Sumi Charcoal Grill Yakitori & Coffee Club

Was at Centrepoint on Good Friday and came across the new wing at the basement. Sumi was having 1-for-1 ramen. Prices were quite reasonable. Unfortunately, the buy-one-get-one-free ramen seemed more like one portion split into 2, each bowl of ramen was abt half the usual size?



Our pork collagen soup ramen tasted very ordinary, soup wasn’t that thick and rich..



Compulsory and chargeable appetizer dish. Seems like more and more Jap eateries are serving this.


Grilled onion - nice


Chicken meatball and beef with enoki mushrooms.


Yakitori fared better. At about $2+ per stick, the price was much lower than Shin Kushiya, and taste just as good.

My take - I'll go back for more yakitori items.



Saturday night at Coffee Club



Tried their new coffee concoction- blackberry ice coffee. Not bad..

Fish fingers - much better than the usual frozen food kind. Worth trying

ECA@Work

I dun usually blogged about work since my work is rather mundane.. just a deskbound job, pushing papers, staring at the PC 8-10 hours a day, reading and writing emails...

Anyway, by virtue of my enthusiasm in taking photos at our department outings (I usu bring camera along or use my hp camera), I was 'arrowed' to take photos at a division event. Having been 'exposed' as a photographer at that event, I seemed to have become the 'official photographer' by default.. Becos now another colleague asked me to help take pics of an award that our company won, so that it can be put into the company video.. hmm.. now that is a rather BIG assignment for a less-than-amateur photographer…

I tried to improvise and turned my cubicle into a makeshift photoshoot background..

updte: The professional photographer our company usu hires for major events happen to drop by at our office. So I suggested to my colleague to ask the professional photographer to do us this 'small favour' of taking the award pics for us free-of-charge. Thankfully he obliged. Compared to the professional photographer, mine r just CMI la - cannot make it. 真是滥竽充数!

Priceless Images

Why Priceless? What's Priceless? Two things - first, the Greek Masterpieces from The Louvre on exhibit at our National Museum (ended 16 Mar 08). Fortunately I manage to catch it during the last 3 days when they gave free entry after 6pm.













This is my favourite piece. It is so realistic that I thought the statue was really going to walk..


The second priceless image - it costs nothing to take. But everyone is only an infant once. Blink, and the baby grows up...

Otoro n Hotplate Brownie

Tried two new things over the weekend. One of them was fatty tuna sashimi fm Genki Sushi. Seeing that it was only $9.80 for a few pieces, I gave it a go. Hmm.. it tasted like how everyone describes it – melt in the mouth. There isn’t much chewing needed. But hmm.. I still prefer my kajiki (swordfish sashimi) for that ‘firm’ texture. Otoro was too soft…




The other interesting dish was Olio Café’s warm brownie ice-cream. Served on a hotplate that sizzles when the chocolate sauce is poured over it.. Gimmicky enough. But taste wise.. abit too sweet, and instead of those cheapo peanut powder, it wld have been better if they used chopped almonds.

In conclusion, I tried new food, but they did not live up to expectations..

Predicting the Future

Took alot of pics of my baby nephew every chance i got. With a bit of analysis and my 'skill' in telling the future (actually just need imagination), i discovered that he seems to have potential for the following occupations:

Eygptian Dancer?




Orchestra conductor?
