One Value Lunch and 2 Blur Movie-goers

I just love taking half day leave on weekdays. Can go for lunch sets at restaurants - cheaper and more value for money than dinner and can shop the whole afternoon without having to Q at the fitting rooms. Yesterday’s half day was the perfect example. Hubby and I went to Clarke Quay for lunch. We ended up at Tomo Izakaya which offered a buy 1 get 1 free set lunch with DBS card. Here’s how it works – order a DBS Bento set ($25), and the second (non-DBS) normal set lunch on the menu would be free. A non-DBS set lunch is cheaper though. Ranging from $14-$22.

In the evening, we bought tickets to watch Slumdog Millionaire at GV Vivo. Our seats were H10 and H11 at Cinema 3. We were so engrossed in chatting that I only remembered number 10 and we ended up at Cinema 10. Unfortunately a fat lady was comfortably seated at H10 and eating her popcorn. She wasn’t too pleased when we showed our tickets to claim seat H10. Turned out she and her companion’s tickets were H9 and H10. So I said we would go to the ticket counter to change. The fat lady seemed like she was going to get up and go with us to the ticket counter too. But we left without waiting for her. As we exit cinema 10, I realised (and confirmed) that we might have entered the wrong cinema. So we quickly ducked into Cinema 3 and hope that fat lady was not behind us to witness this. This time, hubby led the way to our seats. As we settled down and make ourselves comfortable, we couldn’t help wondering why there was an empty seat between us and the next patron. The other patron had a companion and both of them din look like they were waiting for another fren. The puzzle was solved when a couple came in and it seemed like we had occupied one of their seats (seat number 10 is the centre of controversy again). Their tickets were J9 and J10 and Hubby pointed out that their seat row was J while this row was H. The guy went to check the row again, and it turned out that we were seating at row J instead of H. And to think we had the cheek to tell the other party to check again. Sigh.. twice evacuated and 2 false alarms to 4 movie-goers. We sure caused a lot of damage and malu ourselves big-time.
